Wow. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. I've known MMR was a dead game for a while now. After all, it's been a year since the last major update when the monthly battles, treasure house, training cheer day, and true martial arts hall were introduced. We've had a lot of unresolved glitches since then... like the missing image for eggplantern and the missing SS class. When I discovered that the S class battles didn't bother to follow the patterns of the other classes, I began to suspect that the update was a way for the creators to walk away while we had plenty of new stuff to keep us busy on a regular schedule.

I just didn't expect to be told the game would become unplayable. I'm used to board games and gaming systems that are still playable for years, as long as you have space to house them. It just didn't occur to me that MMR is housed by its creators, and that they might clean house eventually.

I've put a lot of time and effort into this game, and into the wikia, so I'm pretty bummed. But I am going to make the best of the next 2 months. I'm going to try to make it into the top 50 in the next monthly tournament, and I am going to see how many different monsters I can raise to maturity.

And then maybe I'll dig out my old Playstation Monster Rancher 2 game.
